BBM for Android.

Foreseeing its end near, the Research In Motion team responsible for Blackberry tried many comebacks but failed every time.
However, Blackberry is, was and will always be known for its BBM- Blackberry Messenger, on the basis of which the latest messengers Whatsapp, hike, etc are built upon!

Blackberry not being able to lure its customers back to itself after them once hopping to Android, came with the unique most solution of getting BBM for Android itself. Some birdies also say that it's gonna come for the famous IOS as well, so no disappointment for anyone there!!

Now although it isn't sure how much is it gonna cost you or other things but it works good and well enough and can be downloaded from any of the sites listed here as it is not officially yet listed on Play Store.
Now, instead of coming with the beta version first, Blackberry wishes to settles score once and for all.
Now what will be the impact on its competitors is yet unknown but a major impact will be seen in the near future for sure.

So yeah, that's almost all about it!
Go ahead, download, stay tuned and have fun!!!

A new member!!!

Hey guys, you all remember my post about the phones I use to test apps, I guess. Don't sweat if you don't. Have a read here.

So yeah, we got a new member for testing- The Micromax Canvas HD . I just got it yesterday and am really happy with the performance but it comes with a few cons in it too.But still it performs just about good and the only reason I got it was to check out the Jelly Bean 4.2.X series and also the quad core. Both impressed me pretty much!

A detailed description and review  will be here in sometime so stay tuned for that!
Have fun!!

Contract killer 2

Whoever said that the best things in the world are free, surely knew about Contract Killer 2 by Glu.

This marvellous game with a story line that will keep you holding, good graphics and surprisingly smooth gameplay makes it a must download!!

I loved this game the moment I started playing!!
This game is finite but the decent difficulty level that they provide you to keep it interesting (or to make you pay for in game purchases, I am not sure which one is it) makes it worth your time!!

So as I mentioned earlier, this game has in app purchases. But is free to download!!
It also sometimes forces you to buy stuff with game glu but that is manageable as you have enough gold given to you already..
Those who aren't patient to wait for that can happily shell out a few bucks for the hard work applied to this game. Others can watch ads by sponsors to get "free glu credit" and have the same fun at a little slower speed.

All those who are ready to gear up and finish the contracts, download it from here.

Keep coming back for more such games!!
Stay tuned, have fun!!

What to look for!

First of all, I would like to thank all of you for making his blog a hit.
Now, I wanna start with saying that recently I have been receiving quite a lot of e-mails on exactly which phone to buy. Now, this comes up with a lot of further questions and a lot of confusion. So I intend on settling the discussion once and for all!

Now all though it may seem a very easy decision, people before buying an android aren't even sure on what it is built on and prefer big numbers to quality and brand name to features. A compromise is not something I would ever recommend. Keep reading further to know what your phone really should have.
Note down all the numbered point if you are buying a phone.

OS:
Now, the obvious choice here is the Jelly Bean and if you are low on a budget, you would opt for an entry level ICS phone. Don't make that mistake!!
With the introduction of KitKat, android is said to be a lot better, the UI is gonna be a lot different and there is a lot more that is to be going on. Keep an eye on that!
Now a common misconception about OS is that different versions are just bundled up with better features in the more latest OS but let me tell you that it's not the case. Now what an OS is and what it does is a part of an entirely different conversation and for an app developer to make you understand that, it will take more than a month in a row. So let us skip that and I will tell you what's important!
  • OS speeds up the processing of your phone and also helps you save some battery life by efficiently controlling your battery usage. (That is if that was implemented)
  • OS as we all know has better features to offer when upgraded.
  • A newer OS will let you use a wider range of Apps and Games.
  • Good OS has good GUI that makes it more convenient for you to use.
Now above stuff may seem quite normal and obvious to you but there are things you don't know.
  1. Every OS has a minimum hardware requirement.
Companies try to just suffice that and supply it to customers. So let your phone have an OS only good enough to be support by your hardware. You will learn all about that when you reach the end of this post.

     2. Every OS may has its unique or standard GUI

Now companies like Samsung, Sony, etc provide phones with special GUI. So if your phone does not support smooth transitions then it could be your GUI and not the OS itself. So although the Standard GUI for each android version is bearable, if you need a good user experience then switch to companies that provide customized GUI.

Processor:
Now again what might seem an obvious choice can turn out to be a wrong one.
Although it is the processor that does all the work, it is the RAM that is the key factor to determine that your phone will lag or not!
Big numbers on both will ensure a good experience but if low on budget remember the next point.

      3. Make sure the ratio of your RAM memory to Processing speed is good enough.

If that is a little too much to understand then make sure that RAM is above 1 GB and Processor above single core 1GHZ clock speed.

Display:
Another misconception that a good ratio of pixels is good is indeed a misconception. You should not look at the number of pixels but the pixel density itself that is being provided. Its measured in ppi (pixels per inch).

     4. Look at the ppi value rather than the number of pixels. More pixels also tend to slow down your phone if it is not backed up with equivalent hardware and software.

Brand:
All brands to claim that they sell the best phones but that can't be true, right?
So here's a final list to tell you to opt for which brand for what feature.

  1. Samsung: Go for it if you need a good GUI and a decent camera and are ready to shell out money for the same.
  2. Sony Xperia: Quite the same as Samsung but a little more as in better GUI, camera and also good for music but comes with a little higher price for same specs.
  3. Micromax: Good promises, half the fulfillment. Good for price. Go above 10k and you won't be dissapointed.
  4. Karbonn: Cheaper version of Micromax with better battery life and phone's overall life.
  5. Spice: Not a conventional choice but good if you like to explore. Comes with lots of bugs. Upgrades solve that though.
  6. LG: Good phones, bad advertising yet powerful enough. Not good if you want to customize it, develop or that sort of stuff!! Just good enough to hold and have fun in the personal space.
  7. Lenovo: Unimpressed, cannot ever recommend.
So yeah, this is all you need to know before buying a phone. Match what features you want and go ahead.
Stay tuned for more info!!
